About Brooke Schafer

Brooke Schafer is a Kentucky artist who has relocated to Shreveport, LA and is excited to share her love of horses and animals through art. She uses a variety of mediums but prefers to work with acrylics and graphite.
Brooke currently offers custom equine portraits and gifts to fund her education.
Growing up in Lexington, Kentucky, Brooke Schafer has always been in horse country and developed a love for horses at an early age. After growing up showing Arabians in all disciplines under her mother Lindsay Hunter, Brooke went to work for top American Saddlebred trainer Nelson Green where she rode and cared for numerous World Champions. She was also an assistant to World Champion trainer Martin Teater and worked for Steve & Tiffany Wheeler and Jack Noble. She has also competed successfully in the hunter jumper and eventing competitions riding with top instructors Michelle Zimmerman and Jules "Butch" Quattrochi and was a competing member of the University of Kentucky Equestrian Team. Having successfully trained many top horses, instructed saddleseat and huntseat riding lessons, and given many educational clinics,
Brooke portrays her knowledge and love of horses through her work.
In May 2010 Brooke completed her degree in Cell and Molecular Biology from LSU and is working at Equine Medicine and Surgery, a racetrack veterinary practice, in Bossier City, Louisiana.
